Green veg .....

..... and boredom.

At lunch time today I headed off in to Leeds to meet up with the lovely SnapshotSam to go and see the new exhibition of photos by Tom Stoddard at the White Cloth Gallery. There were some very thought provoking photos from various war torn and natural disaster hit parts of the world but with so many photos all together competeing for attention it sort of lessend the impact of each individual image. The photo that stood out most to me was a portrait of an old indian lady stood in front of a cracked and crumbling wall in her house after an earthquake. The lines on the old ladies face mirrored those of her destroyed home.

After the exhibition myself and Sam had a look in the Henry Moor institute at a fun exibition with giant inflated silver pillows floating around the large space being blown by fans up to the ceiling before gently floating back down as we walked in amongst them. We then had a cuppa in the art gallery cafe before Sam had to head back to work.

I had another hour or so pottering around Leeds but haven't really been in the right frame of mind for taking photos today. One of the few photos I did take was this portrait of Danielle who was outside the train station selling the Yorkshire Evening Post newspaper. I was struck by the contrast of her well styled hair against the black eye and tattoos ( I didn't ask Danielle about the black eye ).

The title of this blip doesn't have anything to do with any of the above. When I arrived back in Ilkley I popped in to the supermarket to pick up a few bits and pieces and overheard an argument between a couple doing their shopping. The husband was ignoring his wife as she was looking as some items at the end of an aisle. As he walked of with their shopping trolley full of vegetables, she shouted after him " is that all we're allowed in life now, green veg and boredom ?" it was said with such vitrol that it suck in my head, so today's blip is .....

..... Green veg and boredom.
