From Russia with Love

Sorry, I know that is a corny title and I can almost hear the groans but I am now sitting in Terminal 5 waiting for the delayed flight home and it was all I could think of. We left St Petersburg today and this shot of the Church of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, known to Petersburgers as the Church of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood was taken early this morning when we did a final recognisance around that beautiful city. It is very similar in some ways to St Basil's in Moscow. One day I would like to go back to St Petersburg and spend a bit more time there to do it justice. I sat next to a very nice chap on the flight to Heathrow who is British but will be living there for 3 years. He told me that the snow is about to arrive and it will be covered until March.

I have been hearing of my state on fire and have been worried about friends and hoping they and their properties are safe. It all sounds terrible from this distance.

I am now likely to be off the air until I am home. Thanks again for following this trip when I have not had much time to comment. It has been lovely hearing from you all.

Jenny xx
