Colourful home

Not the best day for diving. Saw lots of turtles today and a few more morays. Went inside a sea cave for as look around. Went past one restriction at the back to see the cave going further. Very tempted to go further but not on the kit we had and without a line to get back out with.

J managed to flood the camera on that dive as well. Its now in a bowl of rice in the engine room drying out in the vain hope it might work again.

Didn't get a night dive in as a fisherman came alone and put some long lines in for fishing over the two dive sites we were going to use.

Night was finished off with a dram.

First dive of the day. Down to try and find this mythical beast called a hammerhead shark with no luck. Did managed to find three green turtles though. Came up to have a look around the rocks and managed to find some sea lions on the surface basking in the sun. The bull sea lion was with them so they weren’t allowed out to play.
A few green morays and the normal reef fish but not much else.

Down to go and see some caverns. Dropped in at the point we finished the last dive at and worked our way along to the main cave. Went in for a look around and found a restriction at the back. Went through this one to see the cave starting to narrow down and disappear from the top point of the next section. Very tempting to go further but with John's camera, a single tank at 16m and no reel thought better of it.
Came out and took some photos at the cave entrance.
Once outside J showed me our camera, which had started to leak. She went up to try and limit the damage.
Carried on the dive and saw an octopus in a crevasse and a few painted something or other.
Came up a bit early with John and Alison, as there was not much going on.
Did get buzzed by a seal while we were doing the safety stop but it didn't hang around.

Another wall dive this time the same spot as we did the other day when we went over to the pinnacle of rock and found the turtles.
This time we went in by the sea lions and headed into the current. Not quite the plan we were told in the dive briefing. Managed to get over to the rock pinnacle and found 5 turtles. Two of them having a rest in a gully and one resting on the back of the rocks.
Came back to the main wall and went with the current. Past the sea lion spot with no luck and around the corner.
Not much to see on that side as it was more boulders. Spent some time watching the blennies and picking bits of coral off the sea urchins suckers and putting them back.
Towards the end of the dive we saw a couple of bull sea lions play fighting with each other at the surface. Going around in circles.
Came off the wall into mid water to get the boat and got buzzed by a sea lion but she didn't hang around. Then just before getting on the boat the two bull sea lions came by.
