The stage at the interval, National Theatre
One of the reasons I wanted to come to London for an extended time is its incredible theatre culture. There's so much passion in it, from the writing to imagining every detail of the production to the unbelievable commitment of the actors. It's hard to look at a stage and think, there's someone just doing their job, putting in their time. It can't be that, by its nature.
And theatre is celebration of narrative; that thing that shapes us, gives us the ability to be empathetic and compassionate. The critical tool in our culture that makes us better people, but disguises itself as entertainment.
Today is the day I went to see a play at the National Theatre. (It was Edward II.)
