Surprise!

I've tried a few times to get an image of this old wasp nest, but could never make it work. Upon examining it again today, I noticed one of the cells was unopened, still veiled with a whitish cap. I took a small stick and cracked it open and found this little guy inside. I tried unsuccessfully to shoot him with my iPhone before realizing I needed a digital zoom and got my camera. I placed it in the dappled shade, and just as I snapped, this tiny insect came and landed right on the little guy's cell! What luck! I like the juxtaposition of life and death.
