Whether the Weather be ....

In the village this morning we heard, more than once, "What a horrible day!"

The thing is, it's really not horrible! Although it's a bit grey, there are brighter patches on the horizon. It isn't actually raining, and when it was, it was soft rain. It isn't cold. The sea is choppy and the waves are fun for blipping, but they aren't wild or dangerous or threatening.

Perhaps it was just a case of "no bad weather; just wrong clothes" and we were waterproofed from head to toe? Or maybe folk are so accustomed to moaning about the weather in this country that we don't stop to think whether it really isn't a pleasant but damp autumn day, not as lovely as the crisp sunny golden days but not a cause for dejection.,
