Tree Fungus

A dull morning so I decided to go in the woods to see if I could find any mushrooms - I couldn't. However, I did find this tree fungus which I think is Birch Polypore. The one on the right is from a previous season and is now decomposing but the one on the left is going strong. Apparently these are edible but bitter although they do have some medicinal purposes.
