Better looking in

I'm sure this window must be better seen from the outside looking in than from the inside looking out - it faces due north and overlooks a car park.

In other news, it's my half-brother Tony's birthday tomorrow. We were taken out for lunch by his cousin Carole - we didn't know she existed until she traced him last year. It's complicated: Carole was given up for adoption when she was only a few days old, and Tony's father walked out before Tony was old enough to remember him, so neither of them know much about their family history. Carole is desperate to trace her mother and Tony is the first blood relative she's traced, so it's a shame that my brother isn't at all interested in his father's family.
