The other end of the day

The other end of the daylight from yesterday's blip - the evenings this week have been quite superb. Being fantastically busy at work there has been little opportunity to take photo-time during the day and sunsets are happening 6-7 when I'm on the way home. Even more frustratingly the moon had been rising exactly at that time giving some beautiful large near-full views of the moon against some stunning clear sunsets. Tried to get a few on the SLR from the car park of Traditions golf club in Pyrford but my skills (or lack of), lens power and the ever present smudges on the sensor meant very very poor results from a great scene with mist rising. So I watched longingly as a huge photogenic moon ducked in between slight cloud streaks and dapples of mist and glowed effervescently over luscious orange/blue skies. And I sat in the A3 traffic unable to take. Eventually took this snatched capture with iPhone (without moon).
