APPLE FESTIVAL

It should have been a lovely day for Greener Kirkcaldy's Festival celebrating Apple Day and the planting of a community orchard at the Town's Ravenscraig Walled Gardens. But it rained from start to finish although enough folk turned up to put a smile on the organisers' faces and I was able to snatch a photograph to prove the volunteers were undaunted.
On the way home I called in at a large Supermarket which, above all others, seems to believe in supporting British Apple growers. I found Early Windsor grown in Kent there and at a good price --- so I bought a few and shall continue to do so wherever I find the traditional British apple.
