Wonderment

I come to this place once a year and I am always stunned by its beauty, its vastness. Standing here on my friend's beach, I am only looking at a small bay on the vast inland sea that is Lake Superior.

The water is frigid today, too cold to dunk under for me, but I'm standing almost knee deep in this incredible clarity and marveling at the colors of the sand ripples under my feet. This is the same spot in February.
