A blast from the past on the side of the road
Well it's been a while since I posted anything. I've been tiring my phone out so that it's kept on dying on me before I'm able to get a photo. I've also been so wrapped up in being busy that it's fallen by the wayside. So I'm hoping to get back on track.
I found this antique by the side of the road as I was making the hour's walk to an industrial estate to pick up a package. The package was my router- so I finally have proper internet, result! Well anyway, the road was a big smelly one that takes you into Leeds. I can imagine a couple in an old banger on the way to Leeds with a tape player and only one tape that they play over and over again. They drive into Leeds fairly regularly- let's say every Saturday to do some shopping- and the passenger has to listen to this tape repeatedly every week. Well, this weekend they finally got sick of it and flung it out of the window into a heap of berries, never to be listened to again, poor thing. Then ensued the long, tense, silent remainder of the journey.
Discoveries today:
Walking to industrial estates is an unpleasant thing to do. It's a long way, the big roads are ugly and smelly and once you get there you just have to walk back again.
Lots of slugs! It was a bit damp today so they were EVERYWHERE and some of them were huge. I took a photo as an alternate, but went for the cassette in the end.
The local Mecca Bingo. I was wandering back into town just as the hoards began to swarm around, waiting for it to open. Give it 40 years and that might be me.
The stairmaster thingy at the gym. It's like an escalator and looks a bit scary but i gave it a go. Today I walked up 450 steps in 7 minutes. Not so impressive, but I'll work on it. My gym buddy says she usually does about half an our interval training on it, yeesht. Jelly legs!
