POETRY SPHERE

Following a somewhat fruitless day of attempting to put the smile back on my wife's face (you don't want to ask) finally hit on a plan that Cake & Tea at Bettys would be the only cure, dually fed & watered I did see a glimmer of an improvement so the small fortune spent should show dividends by the time she's seen Bruce & the dancing, I may even get my wicked way with a box of Quality Street if I play it cool!
As part of the Literary Festival they have set up an Illuminated Poetry Sphere at the Bandstand tonight, noticed it on the way in to the cafe & asked what it was all about, seemingly you read your poem or recite your prose in front of the camera under the umbrella & its shown on the sphere for all to see, I said seemingly because the lad on duty was a bit uncertain himself. As it works best in the darkness I hung around for the start at around six but due to a distinct lack of punters & the sudden downpour decided
to head off home & wait until next year to be enthralled.

P.S. This is the bit on the festival website about it, shame they didn't advertise it around the town earlier today, would have got more people to come!

"Saturday 19th October
at Bandstand on The Grove
6–9.30pm
Come down to the Bandstand and watch projections of Festival archives, photo and film on Impossible Theatre’s amazing illuminated poetry sphere as you listen to the Festival online radio station broadcasting live."
