Classics for Pleasure

Apparently, this is one of the records that will be played over the radio for our relaxation and enjoyment in the event of World War III. We visited the Secret Underground Bunker today and this is taken at the radio broadcasting desk. I found that room and its desparation to cling onto normality the most frightening.

Fortunately, our kids didn't really fathom the concept of all out thermonuclear warfare, so didn't seem too traumatised. I found it sobering that the UK government once thought a nuclear shooting war was sufficiently probable to dig a dirty great hole in the Scottish countryside and fill it with reinforced concrete.
