Allons-y! fiber arts

Emergency Scarf in Progress Blip

Fiber to the rescue.

This is actually the very first yarn on made on the spinning wheel - a bit thick and thin but that works out well for a plain garter stitch scarf. This is a two tone Blue Faced Leicester - black and white wool.

Since I now have the formula for making eco friendly indigo dye i may just dye this once it is finished. Indigo is done by dips. You actually watch the fiber turn blue when you take it out of the pot. The more dips the darker the fiber. You cannot do all the dips at once because you risk putting oxygen back into the dye pot. Indigo takes work but oh how incredible it is. Not cheap to do either!

Late and tired and over worked so scarf in progress it is.
