Today would have been the 101st birthday of my mother.

This bust was made by her father, who I understand was largely self taught. It is signed and dated 1943.

My brother brought this to me from abroad and was stopped at Customs.

"What have you got in the bag, Sir"

"My mother's head!"

He was eventually released without charge.
