Third Year Abroad

Feeling vastly better on Friday, I actually managed to have a much more productive day. Although considering I'd barely been out of the house the couple of days previously, this was not exactly a hard task... Met Ash for lunch at a place near the Plaza de Toros called El Nido de Buho (the Owl's Nest), which has become one of my favourite tapas places simply because they do sweet tapas as well as savoury. Had an incredibly healthy lunch of chocolate sauce coated waffle. After lunch we went out to do a bit of shopping, it was just such a relief to get out of the house! I was well on my way to going a little bit stir crazy... This is a church in la Plaza de la Universidad that we walk past every time we go into the main shopping area. Its only a small plaza, but really pretty. After shopping I even made it to the gym before meeting people for more tapas that evening. Typically tapas turned into going to a flat party on the other side of the city. All I knew about it was that an Italian girl had invited one of my friends, so was totally surprised when I walked in and actually knew the girl. Not sure which one of us was more shocked, although her shock may have been more to do with Chris bringing over double the amount of people he'd said he would. I was pretty exhausted so didn't end up staying that long, either my body was still feeling the after effects of illness or just wasn't used to so much activity, but luckily a couple of the others were leaving too. Considering my infamously terrible sense of direction, I probably would have been wandering the city for hours otherwise!
