Lynnau Mymbyr at first light

I work for Cotswold Outdoor and we had a 4-day training course at the National Mountain Centre at Plas y Brenin in Gwynedd. We tested and used new equipment from leading brands to hike up Moel Siabod on thursday and scramble up Glyder Fawr on friday. Wednesday and saturday were spent travelling to and from the event!

On the thursday I deliberately woke up at 6:30 so I could photograph the sunrise, however it was overcast so didn't quite get the results expected! Still, looking westwards, away from the rising sun, the lake outside the lodge took on this beautiful blue hue. I haven't touched this image up in any way, it really was this colour! It took my breath away. Apart from a couple of joggers I was the only one up and for a short while a bat fluttered about above me and I could hear buzzards in the trees.

I'll never forget this morning!
