All Saints Church, Hillesden, Buckinghamshire

"The Cathedral in the Field" - a beautiful setting and lovely Church. Photographs are of the Angels Choir Freeze in the Chancel, the recessed sundial on the exterior of the Church, the main door with it's pretty handle and holes and of course the stunning exterior.

We were here on a very wet but mild day for Matthew to review the ring of 6 bells for his book. We then went to Gawcott to look at the single bell there. Gawcott Church, Holy Trinity, was built 1827 in the Georgian Classical style, which is not one you would expect to find in a Bucks Village! It was designed by the incumbent Rev Thomas Scott, father of Sir George Gilbert Scott who was heavily involved in the restoration of Hillesden Church and was born in Gawcott.

We then visited Stowe Gardens for a walk around the gardens and park with a mixture of sunshine, thunder and heavy showers!
