Challenge - A memory

This 19x29 photo has been on display in our house for at least 35 years. Boats are rounding Gray's Reef Lighthouse, a mark of the course in the Chicago-Mackinac 330 mile race. I sailed on this race more than six times on friends boats.

My best memory is of a 250 mile spinnaker run the length of Lake Michigan. With trailing winds of 25 knots by nightfall we were surfing a 41 ft boat down the breaking waves. It was a great rush!
