Jazz
When I was a teenager, the thing I loved most in life was playing jazz trumpet, and one of my absolute all-time idols was the trumpeter and singer Chet Baker. My Funny Valentine was one of the numbers I used to play most, and I was so inspired by his vocal version - I still get goosebumps listening to it. The same goes for I fall in love too easily and many others.
There's a series of really famous black and white photos of Chet, taken by Bob Willoughby, which I always loved, so when I saw them in this book many years later I had to buy it. So far I've occasionally just flicked through and admired the photos, but tonight I'm going to curl up under this blanket and actually read some of the words too. A nice way to unwind after a busy few days.
