One from my garden
I've had a busy old day. Early this morning we decided to get more pea straw to finish off the garden. It is at a neighbours not too far from here. We hired a trailer.
Then, bugger it - it started to rain, soaking drizzly stuff. But we continued and five trailer loads later, it was all laid and looks fantastic. Very happy.
The heavens decided to open up this afternoon which is great as its pelted down on the pea straw - I know I'm getting my thrills from small things.
This afternoon it has been endless thank you cards done and now waiting to be sent to folk who helped to make our convention a success. Another good job done.
This evening I'm editing photo's from the early 1970's in preparation for this weekend's Mt Cook Rd Reunion. The photo's as you can imagine aren't in the best of condition, I've had them scanned now I'm tiding them up as best I can.
Back then, newly married with one toddler and another on the way we moved from Timaru to live in a Ministry of Works camp for almost three years while the new road was being constructed because of the damming of Lake Pukaki. Doug was one of the Roading Engineers in charge of sections. A great life style, we loved the remoteness and the view from our window of Mt Cook daily was never taken for granted.
Must get on with the task in hand.
Rainie
