Miracles
Splintered October: Images From A Broken Mind #22
Miracles - Gary Numan
I don't believe in miracles
I don't believe in forgiving
I don't believe in I can go on
I won't remember why
I don't believe in long goodbyes
Never look back for me
It's over
And everything has gone
And everything has gone away
I don't remember the faces
I don't remember the feelings
I don't remember your stories
I won't remember you
I don't remember our secrets
My God just look at me
OK, so this image doesn't exactly match the song, granted, but really, isn't this image more interesting than the "my baby done gone left me" drivel quoted above? Dear me! Just in case anybody's Russian is not up to scratch, the quote is by Yuri Gagarin who, when prompted by Nikita Kruschev's question, said, "I see no God up here." Numan is not usually one to shy away from religious vilification; I wish he had gone down that route in this song rather than wallowing in sentimental squalor. Still, lyrics aside, it's a beautiful song with a great sax solo by Gary's brother, John Webb.
By the way, I drew this portrait this morning so, for those who are missing my portrait posts, this one's for you.
Just had to add this great song and video dedicated to one of the greatest pioneers and ambassadors of peace from the 20th century. Hey Gagarin - Jean Michel Jarre
