Golden October
Cracking weather. 20°C midday air temperature and a lot warmer in the sun. Good walk with the dogs. Horses again on the field outside the property. Having removed all the muck last Monday, the (ex) farmer planted a hedge today to hide the muck heap in the future - in the photo just above Sultan's tail, the white horse.
As he had some thuja plants at home, he has now transplanted them. Useful I guess as they grow quickly and form year round sight shield and possibly a good nest site for wild birds but not much more to be recommended. They or at least an oil in the tree is said to be poisonous but luckily the horses do not seem to like it - we have a few growing in our hedges which the horses have access to. Will keep an eye out & if necessary put some "juice" on the electric wire.
Right now, lunch done and out to enjoy or rather make use of the weather and do some more clearing up.
Have a great day all.
