Death of Evidence

A mock funeral cum protest was staged at York University's Scott Library today to make a political statement and to kick off Open Access Week. The Death of Evidence refers to the Canadian Government's hugely ignorant and ridiculous policies that are muzzling our scientists, destroying or ruining data gathering and, generally, anti-science/anti-evidence/anti-data. Stephen Harper, our jackass of a prime minister, is behind all this and much more - all terrible. Tar Sands. Anti-environment. Secret trade deals...

On the up side, my tweet won the twitter competition for this event. It was a book: The War On Science by Chris Turner. It details the destructive lunacy of the Harper Government. If you think the Republican nonsense in the USA was bad, try living in Canada under the Harper regime. Just dreadful. Rife with scandals and incompetence. Worst of all - no election for two years!
