Sweaty
Wednesday night is club night. Every Wednesday from late March through to late September my routine is:
- Drive (or cycle, but usually drive) home from work
- Have a slice of toast with peanut butter (mmm...)
- Get bike out the shed and make sure no flat tyres
- If flat tyre then hurriedly put new inner tube in and inflate!
- Get changed into cycling apparel
- Fill water bottle with some energy juice
- Shoes and helmet on and head out to meet the club and take part in whatever we're doing, be it a time trial or training run
- Return home, strip off my sweaty gear and get in the shower
- Eat. Baked potato and tuna is a favourite Wednesday night post bike ride dinner. Or pizza.
It was the Hilly 10 Mile Time Trial tonight. We do this early on in the season, round about when the clocks go forward, then we do it again near the end of the season so we can see how much we've improved, if any!
Anything under 30 minutes is a decent time for this tough course. I think I did 29:58 earlier in the year and I think it was 29:32 tonight. Not much of an improvement but I'm happy enough considering the lack of cycling I've done this year.
Edit: After getting the official results I see my time was 29:03 which makes me feel a bit happier :-)
