It's all about sugar apparently
I remember being told by someone that the reds and oranges of autumn leaves comes from the sugar or glucose left in the leaves from the photosynthesis process.
I'm guessing it's brown sugar because that would explain the colour. If it was white caster sugar, would the leaves go white? What would happen if it was sugar cubes? No, it can't be sugar, I've never seen cuboid leaves. It's just red paint, painted on by the autumn pixies.
Yes, that makes perfect sense.
