eye contact...

...with a gull

flying through the air - along with his compatriots - quite a number of them today - searching, i think, for food - in the water - singing their songs to each other - then wanting some from me - but i don't carry food - don't feed the wildlife - have never believed it to be a good idea really - some i think - believe you can obtain a better photo by throwing food to the birds or squirrels or geese... i like to get them in their natural state - out in the wilderness - it's different if you've got birdfeeders set up - i'm not speaking to that - i'm only addressing times when you're out and about in full on nature - i, for one, just think it's pretty cool - when you can capture an unadulterated photo - which hasn't been planned - it simply happens

such as this one - i wasn't tempting the gull with anything - well - i was doing my typical calling to it - but that can only be deemed as annoying - to both nature and other people; whereas i like to call it whispering - boo! otherwise - this fellow - all on his own - turned to do the eye contact, stare down with me - which in my mind - was beyond comprehension - super cool and made for...
