Clutter at the museum

The revamped National Museum of Scotland was opened a couple of years ago, but I've only just got round to visiting.

Reviews have been positively glowing, with only the odd negative comment - mainly from people whose favourite exhibits have been ditched.

I didn't like it at all. The collections of artefacts seemed to have been scattered randomly throughout, with little thought to keeping similar items together.

It has it all - hanging animals, T Rex, Iranian armour, railway signs, Stevenson's lighthouse, Egyptian mummies, Ben Stiller (I made that one up), F1 racing cars, old telephone boxes - but the collection is dispersed and random and there is apparently no logic to the way it is displayed.

At least one other punter didn't like it. They posted on Tripadvisor: "This politically correct museum glorified the likes of Tommy Sheridan and other left wing people while Maggie Thatcher was portrayed as a vampire".

So there's something to like, then.
