Rosslyn Chapel

I am making the most of the lovely weather, and a day away from work, by going to Roslin in Midlothian. This picture of Rosslyn Chapel was taken from a path that descends in to Roslin Glen.

Rosslyn Chapel was mentioned in the book Da Vinci code, and was also shown in the film of the same name. Unfortunately, there is no connection with the Knights Templar. The Chapel was built 150 years after the Knights Templar lost its influence in Europe and resulting dissolution. So it is highly unlikely the Holy Grail was buried / placed in a pillar there. Nor is there any connection between Freemasonry and the Chapel

It is definitely worth a visit for its history, architecture and stone carvings. There is also Roslin Glen and Roslin Castle nearby, so don't forget your camera.

Once you've visited Rosslyn Chapel, I suggest you make an extra trip to Seton Collegiate Church near Longniddry in East Lothian for a surprise twist.
