More MOHAI
This goes along with monday’s blip of the granddaughters at MOHAI. Picked up the Grandsons today and did the same -so here is the building - it was an armory built in 1942 by the Works Progress Administration. It sits above the water on wood pilings driven into the bottom of Lake Union and now houses the Museum of History and Industry.
We don’t have much time on thursday afternoon as we have to get Nik to soccer practice by 5:30, but it’s always good to have a snack in a cafe (MOHAI has a very fine cafe) and listen to them talk about their day and everything else. And then we see select bits of the museum... Nik did the new ”innovation” exhibit project and we had fun looking for Tatum on the screen and seeing her answers from Monday.
Home for a very short while -long enough for Nik to show us the latest “weird” youtube rage going around the elementary schools here (shown in some music classes!) :-) What does the fox say? Not sure what to make of this ... Nik is very interested in having his own youtube site.
A few on Flickr.
For those that were interested..last night’s African lecture focused on 10 contemporary Africans’ photography. No lions or elephants or native dress. ( actually one was documenting kings of Cameroon with elaborate dress...) and the most interesting to me apparently has been seen as very large tableau in the London tube stations - Yinka Shonabare, MBE. We’ve seen his work in our Art Museum before..
