Construction Techniques
The Viceroy Hotel is doing some repair on their yoga palapa near the volleyball court. Since last year, the main support columns have been unstable and it has not been used in months. Today they brought in a backhoe to hold up one corner while they removed the old timbers and installed new ones. I can't help but think how something like this would never take place in the United States. Too many rules, too much fear of lawsuits. There is a simpler approach here in Mexico, do what is most expedient. I suppose if the structure would have fallen over, then I would be writing a different story (not to mention posting a different photo), but all was good and the replacement went off without a hitch.
