Neptune

Doing a few girlie things this morning was surprised when the sun came out after forecasts of rain! Making the most of it grabbed a parking space on the Promenade in Cheltenham and dashed over to the fountain.

Built in 1893 of Portland stone by R L Boulton this depicts Neptune being pulled by sea-horses and it uses the local water from the river Chelt. Designed by Borough Engineer Joseph Hall who was influenced, obviously, by the Trevi Fountain in Rome.

Not too keen at being tooted at by passing motorists - this IS Cheltenham after all :))

Looking forward to number 1 son arriving shortly from Florida. I think with the following wind they will be landing early!
