Last of the Windfalls

We have been gathering the last of the harvest, the last of the apples. The small tree always crops last and the apples are smaller and not as bright or as sharp, they are sweet but tart and small but crunchy, most went in some wonderful apple and elderberry jam.

We also have some jars of apple chutney which so worked too, we shall be enjoying the autumn harvest for a few more weeks, but these are the last windfalls. I will bring them in and wash them before making more baking and maybe some more jam. The choices are part of the fun.
