The king

There used to be a lot of king parrots in the backyard years ago, but since returning from Singapore just over a year ago, they do fly-bys but little else.

This morning I'd just finished my swim and this guy came and sat in the jacaranda tree. Somehow I managed to sidle up to my towel and grab my iPhone. I took several snaps as it had a snoop around, including popping its head in the possum box which was quite funny, and engaging in some acrobatics in the bird feeder that dangles from a branch for the smaller birds.

Then -- to my amazement -- it flew towards me, and came and sat on the pool fence to say g'day. I'm now wondering whether it is an escapee if it is so comfortable with humans.
