No Law But Gravity
Two years ago I blipped the annual Dumpster Derby, which was rolling again tonight for the 14th time.
Every year about a week before Halloween, the West Philly anarchist mob gathers for about one hour to cheer as some roll down a steep street on go-carts that have been lashed together out of found objects. I've been to about six of them now. It has no organized existence and lasts for less than an hour. We all look forward to it.
Tonight it was cold, but everyone (something like 300 kids, dogs, and adults) had a wonderful time. It's funny how these little things keep going and grow larger as the years pass.
