Locals versus tourists

We have a huge instream of tourists in Bruges ,at the moment. Many come to visit the graves of the fallen victims in WWI . Next year we will remember the beginning of this war 100 years ago. We will be expecting lot's of people all around the world because people of all the continents have been fighting in this conflict. It was one of the dirtiests and heavy wars. But isn't that the same with any war? And what for?
