Life in a Northern Town

Copenhagen

The view over the city from the top of the Rundetaarn - the tower is 114 feet high and the top is reached by a 686 feet spiral walk winding 7 times round the hollow core.

The railings date back to 1643, when the tower was built by Christian IV, allegedly to ride his horse or a carriage to the top.

I will try and get some of the shots from inside the tower onto Flickr - and also some shots of the coloured houses at Nyhavn - today looks like the only dry day we will get so I've been off to get the touristy shots already.

Our hotel is overlooking Tivoli, which is all decked out for Halloween so we are off there now to sample its delights. I am trying not to convert the cost of anything into Sterling as that would be very scary!

Hopefully some Flickr pics here.
