A strange event

Did a function last night at the King Power, it was an Asian pre wedding ceremony or to you and I a combined Stag and Hen do
The guests started to arrive about 7 ish and took their places at the various tables. After a while I noticed all the ladies sitting together at tables and all the male guests sitting together...
The groom to be had brought in a large supply of Budweiser, spirits and soft drinks and set up a tab for draught beer only.
I then observed that the soft drinks had been placed on the ladies tables and on each of the male occupied table there was a bottle each of Smirnoff, Bacardi, Chivas Regal and various wines which was replenished as the night wore on. The ladies had to make do with Coke, Lemonade or bottles of water.
It was a very colourful and noisy event but it really highlighted the differences in cultures and how Asian women accept their lot....
