Rain in the mountains

On the way back from Pézenas this morning the sky was a progression of blue, then wisps of white cloud, charcoal smudges of darker cloud and then in the distance rain clouds on the mountains of the Haut Languedoc. This will be good for the rivers and the water table, but not for our garden. We'll have to wait a bit longer ... next week perhaps.

You can see from the road verges how dry any unwatered land is after three months without proper rainfall.
