After the reverence
I heard that cats are known to pay homage to their main caregiver a few weeks before they die. They will sit up straight and half close their eyes and sit still as a statue, gazing toward their loved one.
Tonight our neighbour's dog sat very still and looked at the other neighbour's horse while an orange cat sat between them and observed them both. Meanwhile the goats stood by quietly witnessing the intersubjective field. My husband and I also looked on, trying to understand what was happening. There was a palpable silence. My approach sent the cat running and the moment broke. I snapped this shot of the goats as the tension dissipated.
