Cooked and ready for 'feeding.'
Christmas cake is a tradition that began as plum porridge. People ate the porridge on Christmas Eve, using it to line their stomachs after a day of fasting. Soon dried fruit, spices and honey were added to the porridge mixture.
So our dried fruit was soaked over night and the cake was prepared and baked today. Lovely to come back in from the wet 'n' wild afternoon to the smell of our Christmas cake. Delicious...
