Friends in a small world

My friend, M from Burlington, who was born in the Netherlands, was visiting the country with her sister. Following her visit to the Rijksmuseum, she visited me in my apartment for coffee, accompanied by her Dutch cousin, with whom she was staying, and her sister. What a delightful surprise to be “introduced” to her sister! M’s sister and I go way back, but had not seen each other for many years. Our daughters played soccer together and we watched many games all over southern Ontario. I had no idea that she and M were sisters and she had no idea that M and I knew each other. Fun to be reacquainted an ocean from home. It was lovely to catch up.
