Low tide at Crossness
Another weekend with Mum, and another day near the Thames seeking somewhere to lunch. We seemed to spend a lot of time wandering around new housing estates with tantalising glimpses of the Thames, but nowhere to stop. Eventually, we found a spot near the Cross Ness Victorian Pumping Station and the rather more modern sewerage works.
I can't say that this is one of the most attractive parts of the Thames Path, and you could certainly smell the local industry! However, it was good to have a stroll afterwards to blow the cobwebs away.
