I feel sick...
A long overdue Christmas present from the boy last year. A trip to the Pudding Club in Mickleton. Now being more of a starter person rather than a pudding person and not liking warm custard I did wonder what the boy was thinking when he presented it to me but it was a lovely thought and an evening out stuffing our faces should never be 'scoffed' at. So after visiting two florists and a cake maker we headed to the Coltswold for a wander around the beautiful village of Broadway and then a quick glass of red with the local village idiot in Stow on the Wold.
When we finally arrived at the Pudding Club we were welcomed by a man in a sponge pudding and custard tie and took our seats on a table of ten or so. I have to be in the right mood to be sociable and clearly the lady opposite wasn't a talker either but the mood lightened once the puddings were bought out, one by her husband a keen chef who's birthday it was.
Now I'm not keen on warm puddings due to not liking warm sweet things but I still managed a small portion of each except the bread and butter pudding, a spoonful of the boys flabby feeling pudding was enough. We marked each one out of ten and my favourite was the syrup pudding which came second to the tarty passionfruit roulade.
I wouldn't rush back but for the pudding lovers I imagine its pretty amazing! The french lady next to the boy won the prize of a syrup pudding who had also confessed to not liking puddings either.
Apologises to my boy, I promise to love this years present much more xx
