Emma D's diary

At home: Did they say Storm?

We live on a hill. Its windy all the time. Its cold alot of the time too. Its a good job that I originally came from Yorkshire because you have to be made of strong stuff to cope. My dad left today, and not before reminding Toni, a friend of mine that 'Emma has grown up having to get things done. I mean there was always a log burner to keep going!' Poor Toni, was only mentioning that she may have a spare room, should the roof blow off our house in the storm arriving Sunday night. Toni then kindly followed up with a text message later, " make sure you put the kids to bed in their overcoats and wellies"

I feel that I have a happy balance of optimistic and pessimistic family and friends. This is counter balances with which ever my fortunes lie. If the roof blows off, I have a great friend who will help, oh and gloat too! If not I know that I still have lots to do tomorrow to make sure the everything else doesnt blow away!...x
