But, then again . . . . .

Please Will You Throw My Frisbee?

Today was a disaster, all twenty-four hours of it. It started at midnight (most days do) as it was then that I noticed something amiss, the DVD for today’s cinema showing is the 1974 and not the advertised 2013 release. A quick trip to the local all-night DVD emporium didn’t produce the correct version, so I looked on line and soon discovered that it is not due to be released to the general public for another three weeks. It would be possible to hire one from the licensing company, but not on a Sunday or at this short notice. After emailing abject apologies to the members of our clientele who live in this century, and getting a posting up on Facebook, I just had to live with the consequences. The film was not popular, although I suspect that the intended one would not have done much better, and we made a loss - not a big one - but enough to be embarrassing. We were also short staffed, due to a holiday and a university project, making my work load higher than I would like, but we eventually muddled through.

We did have a worse evening a couple of years ago when the hired DVD for “Be Kind - Rewind” turned out to be blank; ironically, it is a film about a video shop that accidentally wipes all their tapes. That was a rubbish film as well.
Since then we have purchased our own copies.

In spite of this saga, normal daily duties had to be performed so we walked the dogs. After an hour of chasing a ball, Chess had clearly not had enough; the blip was taken in her back garden.
My apologies about the stone seat, but it was too big to magic away.
