Mayfield Gardens

Travelled to Oberon today to have a day out with my sister at Mayfield Gardens. It is one of the largest privately owned cool climate gardens in the world. Once there you forget you are in the middle of rural Australia. It's more like a English estate complete with a maze, rose garden, water folly and 80 metre cascade, walled potager, pine forest, birch grove, lake complete with central obelisk, Chinese pagoda and of course lots of beautiful gardens. Well worth a visit, but is only open on selected weekends in spring and autumn. Pictured is the view from the water feature - lovely on a hot day.
