The last Sunday in October

Today, the last Sunday in October 2013, unrolled at an easy pace, but in a much different setting than the first Sunday in October.

By late morning, the sun was shining and what began as another gray and foggy day turned into a stunning autumn afternoon, complete with leaves turned red, orange, and gold, blanketing the ground, a breeze with just a little bite to it, and some distinctively fall lighting.

Rich suggested a leisurely drive out to Granite Falls where we came upon this magnificent rock wall. Granite Falls is located on the south fork of the Stillaguamish River and still has several operating granite quarries. Today's drive was just the ticket for a short and sweet getaway to yet another gorgeous Washington destination.

Got granite?
