From the beginning

Tane Mahuta

Another great day, we started by hiring a golf buggy to explore the Peppers resort in Maitai Bay that we were staying at, I didnt realise that golf buggys could travel off rode down huge off road track....but they can. More white sands and views of the Karikari and the volcano. We then headed south and took the ferry crossing at Hokianga harbour. Opononi was a great little town to stop in as the views were pretty amazing.
Next stop Tane Mathuta, the oldest Kauri tree in New Zealand in the Waipoua forest. As you are walking through the bush to this tree you cant see anything unusual, then there is a huge grey shadow that consumes everything, if you look to the bottom right of the tree you will see some blue which is a person, Tane Mahuti is estimated to be 2500 years old and the girth is nearly as large as its height.

Its been a full on weekend and its nice to be home.

I mysteriously back blipped yesterdays Cape Reinga at some point when we must have come into internet earlier today :-)
